Trott starred in England’s victory

Jonathan Trott, the mighty England batsman played a very delightful innings to reach to his second century in ODI cricket. England having lost three games of the series in succession had to win this game to keep the series alive and Trott did the job for them. They still have to win all the next three games to seal victory in the series which is still not such a cake walk for England.

Australia had to face defeat loss in spite of a decent batting performance from the Aussie batsmen but their bowlers didn’t keep it tight enough for the England players. The way Australia’s top seamer’s bowled was not the way the champion cricket team plays. Australia will have to stay focused with their strategies to once again lift the ICC cricket World Cup trophy.

England still have to tough road ahead to clinch the series, while Australia just needs to win one more game to seal the series which doesn’t seem to be such a tough job for them seeing their current cricket form. England would really have to work hard and all their players need to play sensibly.

India fails to conquer maiden series victory in South Africa

Today was the final cricket match for India of the series and before the cricket World Cup. India were hoping to win their first ever series win in South Africa by winning the game but all their hopes were shattered in final game of cricket. India lost the final to the mighty South Africa.

India won the toss and elected to field thinking the things will go in the way they wanted but expect the toss it was just Yusuf Pathan’s thrilling fourth century that went in India’s way. South Africa started a slow and calm innings and Amla yet again made a century troubling the Indian bowlers to the core. Amla helped the team reach to a decent total of 250 in the 46 overs of the rain hit cricket match. Yusuf Pathan was the only Indian batsman who played and brought hope on the Indian faces but all were shattered once his wicket fell soon after his century and India were left on the losing side.

South Africa are going strong and high on confidence after defeating a strong cricket nation like India and will go into the World Cup with spirits high. India on the other hand were quite impressed by their bowling in the death over by getting six wickets for just 24 runs in the end but their batting has collapsed drastically in the whole series which will be a worry point for them. They will be hoping that all things are well set once all their star players return to the game.

New Zealand end their losing streak with the help of Southee

New Zealand wins their first cricket match of the ODI series against Pakistan. Bowlers played a significant role in ending their losing streak. Tim Southee and Bennett are the main bowlers who troubled the Pakistan batmen with their swinging deliveries and Southee also grabbed five wickets while Bennett bagged three wickets in the cricket game.

Pakistan had won the test series against the black caps pretty convincingly but failed to show the same temperament in the first game of the series and their last series before the cricket World Cup of 2011. All the Pakistan batsmen failed to score runs except Misbah who was able to reach to his half century somehow. Pakistan would have to think about their present skipper Afridi who hasn’t been in good shape nor has showed any good captainship so far ahead of the cricket World Cup.

New Zealand is thrilled to grab the first game but there are still five more matches to go in the series to look forward to. Pakistan will have to concentrate on the upcoming games to get back in rhythm before the world cup and even New Zealand would be working hard in the camp to keep the momentum going.

Pakistan crushes New Zealand to gain victory

Pakistan recently coming out from the spot-fixing allegation starts a fresh start under a new skipper Misbah-ul-Haq. Their team though inexperienced but showed class against the Black Caps to seal the test cricket on the third day of the test. New Zealand on the other hand carried on their losing streak and face another humiliating defeat in test cricket.

Abdur Rehman bowled superbly without giving the New Zealand batmen any chance to score and also grasped three crucial wickets, along with Tanvir Ahmed who bagged four wickets and continued his good test cricket form. The New and inexperienced Pakistani players would be looking forward to play consistently to fix their spot for the World Cup 2011, as many of the senior Pakistan players are facing either fixing allegations or disciplinary actions or facing injury issues.

New Zealand bowlers bowled inconsistently and the fielder also dropped catches to add to their miseries, while Pakistan hardly gave anything away. New Zealand was dismissed for just 110 in their second innings just overcoming the lead by a few runs. Now Pakistan had already won the game needing a couple runs to assure victory. Abdur Rehman, Umar Gul and Wahab Riaz all grabbed three wickets each to restrict New Zealand to a score of 110.

New Zealand will have to improve their performance if they want to improve their chances in the World Cup 2011 of the ODI cricket. Pakistan on the other hand needs to carry on their winning momentum they have got and players need to be away from controversies in cricket.
