Muttiah Muralitharan has announced to retire from all form for international cricket after World Cup 2011. The world’s most dangerous spinner who has already retired from test cricket is ready to say goodbye to international cricket, who has the highest number of wickets in both ODI and test cricket.
This cricket World Cup would be really special as this could be the last World Cup for many legendary and greatest players in international cricket. Murali has been the part of the World Cup winning squad in 1996 and this would be his fourth and last World Cup. The world will definitely miss this spinning legend after his departure from international cricket even though he will continue to play in IPL for two more years.
Murali has played only three matches since his retirement from the test cricket. The Sri Lankan fans would be hoping that Murali wins the World Cup for them since it’s his last and also in the subcontinent. Murali also doesn’t have any plans to start coaching soon after his retirement and wants to focus on the World Cup to give his best and say goodbyr to international cricket in style.
