Biography-Harbhajan Singh


Harbhajan Singh, who born in Jalandhar of Punjab, is the player of passion and talent of India. He is the most successful Indian spin bowler. Among the top wicket takers, his position is three among all the off-spinners of the world and first among the Indians. He made his one-day and test debut in 1998. But his career was encircled that time by the investigations about his bowling action legality and disciplinary matters. In 2001, after the injury of leading leg spinner Anil Kumble, his career was revived after his inclusion to the team for Border-Gavaskar Trophy by the captain Sourav Ganguly. In that series, he proved his skill against Australia and made his position strong in the team by taking total 32 wickets and becoming the first Indian hat-trick bowler in test match.
In the recent ongoing series against New Zealand, Harbhajan has proved his batting skill too. He got two consecutive test centuries leading his team to the batting section.
Harbhajan Singh has played a total 89 test and 212 one-day matches in his career. His highest scores are 115 and 49 in the test and one-day matches respectively. He has two centuries and eight half-centuries in the test. His total test-match run is 1896. For one-day, it is 1083. He also played 70 Tewnty20 matches where his highest score is unbeaten 49 runs.
