Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-haq gifted Pakistani fans a draw from the jaws of defeat on the auspicious day of Eid. Firstly Younis Khan along with Azhar occupied the crease to put up a stand of 86 runs to provide them a much needed partnership, Azhar also made his third half century during the partnership with Younis Khan.
Younis Khan didn’t stop even after the dismissal of Azhar. Misbah came in to occupy the crease after Azhar and Younis along with Misbah this time had put up a stand of unbeaten 186 for the fourth wicket, which is the highest partnership against the Proteas. Though Younis had been lucky a couple of times from getting out but still he managed to stay calm and finish an unbeaten innings also completing his 17th century.
Misbah also grabbed the opportunity to show up his talent on the most required occasion and took the advantage and also made an unbeaten half century, even he was lucky a few times. South Africa’s bowling was testing for the Pakistani batsmen’s as they were tested by bouncers and swing bowling but their fielding was a much of a concern for them as it is said catches win matches. South Africa was quite sloppy in the field as they dropped both the Younis and Misbah couple of times, which could have turned the course of the match in their favour.
In the end it will be Pakistan who will be walking out happy with their performance on the last day. South Africa would be disappointed as they missed another opportunity to grab the game. Pakistan still needs appreciation as they didn’t lose their cool in such a pressure situation and which won them a draw.
