The Pakistan cricket team skipper Shahid Khan Afridi boomed the team in first match and took 5 wickets. He bowled really well, Afridi bowled 8 overs which inc3 maiden overs. The bowling figures are shown below:

   | | 12.2 to Ouma, 143.2 kph, Out this time! It was a good length delivery outside off and Ouma goes for a strange shot. He got on the front foot and went for a cut. Not the length for it. Unless you have a Shane Watson like chop-cut off the front foot. Edge and gone here! 43/2 33.1 to Ngoche, Oh dear! He shouldered arms there, only to hear the death rattle. It landed on a length just outside off and skidded in. The batsman left it alone. Mistake. Clatter! 112/10 |

   | | 22.2 to Tikolo, 90.3 kph, Tikolo fails again. He went down the track, first side stepped towards leg before trying to move across towards the line and went for the lofted hit. But Afridi had held this one back and Tikolo was through early with the shot. The ball slid through the bat and pad gap and fell on the stumps. Afridi's index finger shoots up towards the sky. The Kenyan legend walks back to the hut. 73/3 26.3 to Mishra, 102.4 kph, Pakistan go for the UDRS Lbw turned down. It landed on a length on the off stump and skidded towards the leg stump. The batsman went back, played across the line and missed the slider. It would have hit the leg stump. The reversed verdict is OUT! 79/4 28.3 to Kamande, 90.0 kph, Afridi is on a song here. It landed on a good length around the middle stump line and straightened. The batsman missed it and it would have hit the middle stump. The captain walks back. He had a chat with his partner whether to go for the UDRS and they decide going against it. 87/6 30.5 to Odoyo, 97.3 kph, Googly! Wicket no 4. It broke back in from outside off, skidded past the forward prod and hit the pad in front of the off stump. Afridi - 4 for 16 101/7 32.1 to Obuya, 86.5 kph, Wicket no 5 for the captain! Obuya's entertaining knock is over. Afridi teased him with a flighted delivery and he couldn't resist going for the big hit but he couldn't clear long-on. 5 for 16! ooh la la! 112/8 |

   | | 5.3 122.1 kph, jeez, what a ripper! it was clipped neatly off the toes, and was in the gap too, but just as it was about to pass midwicket, Waters went screaming to his left horizontally, took the ball, but even as he fell it went out of his grasp, but he took it cleanly in the end with the right hand, an absolute screamer, Hafeez cannot believe it, but he has to walk back after umpteen replays confirm it was clean 11/1 |
 | Ahmed Shehzad | c Kamande b Odoyo | 1 | 18 | 0 | 0 | 5.55 |
   | | 6.5 130.1 kph, Shehzad's stuttering stay in the middle is over, it was a length ball on off, nothing special about it, but he wanted to go midwicket, ended up going in the air straight to mid off as he got the leading edge, he had been going across the stumps, and trying to play across the line for some time now, and has paid the price ultimately 12/2 |
 | Kamran Akmal | st Ouma b Ngoche | 55 | 67 | 5 | 0 | 82.08 |
   | | 24.4 dear me, Kamran has lost it here, went charging blindly down the track to a tossed up delivery, and decided to swing it out of sight, but the ball turned past his flailing blade and Ouma did the rest, what a shame, he had batted so well, brain fade really, Ngoche is rewarded for flighting the ball 110/3 |
 | Younis Khan | lbw b Tikolo | 50 | 67 | 2 | 0 | 74.62 |
   | | 33.4 83.2 kph, Younis goes for the review, he was struck on the pads as he went for another sweep, Tikolo asked the question twice, umpire Llong gave him out after a lot of thought and replays show the ball hitting the leg stump, Pakistan lose a review, and Younis has to walk back, one more well-set batsman falls at the wrong time for Pakistan 155/4 |
 | Misbah-ul-Haq | c Otieno b Kamande | 65 | 69 | 1 | 2 | 94.20 |
   | | 46.5 95.0 kph, Misbah goes this time, swinging a full delivery straight to long on, the boundaries here are very long and he picked out the man almost to perfection, well, he's put Pakistan in a strong position though 273/5 |
 | Umar Akmal | c Obuya b Odoyo | 71 | 52 | 8 | 1 | 136.53 |
   | | 48.2 99.1 kph, picks out long on, it was the slower one, he got too much underneath the ball, but still went through with the shot, and managed to find long on in the end, what a knock though 289/6 |
 | Shahid Afridi | lbw b Odoyo | 7 | 4 | 1 | 0 | 175.00 |
   | | 48.3 105.8 kph, whoops this one looked very close, it was very full too, and rapped him on the pads as he swung across the line from the crease, Odoyo's confident appeal was turned down initially, Kenya go for the referral, that is hitting middle of middle, and he will have to walk back 289/7 |
 | Abdul Razzaq | not out | 8 | 6 | 1 | 0 | 133.33 |
   | | |
 | Abdur Rehman | not out | 5 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 166.66 |
