India announce their final squad for World Cup 2011

India announced a final 15 member squad for the cricket World Cup 2011 today. The team was mostly as expected, while still there some shocking inclusions and exclusion. Rohit Sharma, who had been in a pretty decent form recently has been excluded from the squad along with the experienced left arm spinner Pragyan Ojha was a surprising decision.

India also has couple of their players down with injury at the moment but all of them are included in the squad. India would be expecting them to be fit for the whole lot of cricket to be played in the World Cup. Piyush Chawla is another surprise inclusion, who hasn’t played a single ODI cricket match since July 2008. India also doesn’t have a backup keeper for MS Dhoni. The rest of the team looks to be the same as expected.

The national selection committee of cricket is expecting this young cricket team to let their wait for the World Cup for 28 years to come to an end. This Indian cricket team has been performing well in all forms of cricket and they are sure they will do a good job in the World Cup and win it. They also said that as we are playing in the subcontinent, spin is bound to play a major role.

Squad: MS Dhoni (capt & wk), Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Munaf Patel, Piyush Chawla, R Ashwin
