England’s cricket World Cup 2011 squad announced

Matt Prior returns to the ODI format after being named in the 15 member World Cup squad. Matt Prior’s inclusion was one and only surprising decision made by the England Cricket Board (ECB).

Matt Prior’s return was only because of his recent form as he played many handy innings for England in the Ashes cricket and the selectors also hope that his experience will bring more strength to the squad. While Collingwood is also in the squad and is one of the important players for England ahead of the World Cup but his recent cricket form is a part of concern for the team.

The selectors feel that they have chosen the right men required for the cricket World Cup which is being held in the subcontinent. They have kept all the things in mind before preparing the squad. England is confident that their cricket team will perform well in the World Cup as they have been in great touch for the past couple of months.

Squad Andrew Strauss (capt), James Anderson, Ian Bell, Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad, Paul Collingwood, Eoin Morgan, Kevin Pietersen, Matt Prior, Ajmal Shahzad, Graeme Swann, James Tredwell, Jonathan Trott, Luke Wright, Michael Yardy.
