Biography-Sohail Tanveer


Sohail Tanvir was born in December 12, 1984, Rawalpindi, Punjab. Left-arm medium-fast, Slow left-arm and Left-hand bat. His first-class debut at Peshawar in Oct 2004 didn’t create impressive performance with bat or ball, but in second ODI at Multan he scored 97 runs and takes 3 wickets.
Tanvir recognized himself as all-rounder and his victorious 124 (his 2nd first class century) in Pentangular Cup 2007 against Sind. He also represented Pakistan A team in tour of Bangladesh and perform as all-rounder against Australia A in the ODI series, during after this selectors replaced him with Shoaib Akhtar in ICC World Twenty20. The choice was shocked but Tanvir take a wicket in the Twenty20. His first test debut against India in Nov 2007 and first ODI debut against South Africa in 2007. Tanvir’s best bowling figure 5/48 he took 48 wickets in ODI 5 in test and 11 in T20, he also scored unbeatable 59 against Hong Kong in Asia Cricket Cup in June 2008.
He emerged as the surprise package in the ICC World Twenty20, but he didn’t pick for the Test team, Tanvir back in action with green shirts in the ODI series against South Africa. He went on to record a dramatic performance 6 for 14 for Rajasthan in the IPL – which is best figures in a Twenty20.
