1st Test: India v New Zealand at Ahmedabad

Day 1: The Day purely belonged to India with Sehwag and Dravid giving them a perfect start as they might have expected.
They both proved to be a torment for the New Zealand squad who were already aware of the challenges they will be facing with the Indian team at their home.
Sehwag continued his task of demolishing the New Zealand bowlers by smashing the bowlers all over the park, while Dravid on the other hand played a cautious innings to get to his half century first and he showed signs of regaining his form by hitting the ball with some perfect bit of timing.
Dhoni was thrilled to win the toss and expected the started that they have been provided by both the centurians.
While Sehwag made a blistering 173 of 199 deliveries before he got off to Vetori attempting a lazy inside-out shot which ended up his innings but as Sehwag was slacking Dravid was regaining his form and made a contribution of 104 off 227 balls and was bowled by Chris Martin in a similar fashion of bottom edging a cut.
The Duo had already put up a 227 run stand which had put India in command of the game.
While from New Zealands point of view it was not quite a happy day as the spinners failed to extract a lot out of the pitch and pacers not being able to beat the batsmen much on the slow pitch.
Looking at their bowling strength it will be quite interesting to see if the opponents will be able to get the 20 wickets of the hosts with the firepower they have in their squad.
They will have a lot to ponder about after the first day and need to plan out their game in the right way from here.
