Biography-Anil Kumble


Anil Kumble, who won India more test matches in history, was born in 1970 at Bangalore. He got the highest number of wickets as an Indian bowler in ODIs and tests. He has best bowling figure in ODI match against West Indies among all the Indian bowlers. He is also one of the two bowlers who got total 10 wickets in an innings of test cricket against Pakistan in 1999, held on Delhi. At a time, he also became the captain of the Indian test cricket team.
Kumble is the right-handed batsman and an excellent leg spinner. He has got the third number of test wickets in history and more than 300 wickets in ODI.
He started his ODI career in the Australasia Cup in 1989-90 at Sharjah against Sri Lanka. In that match, he took 1 wicket giving 42 runs. His test career began in 1990 against England at the ground Manchester where he took 3 wickets giving 105 runs in 43 overs.
He has played a total 132 test and 271 one-day matches in his career. His highest score is 110 in the test match. He has 1 test century and 5 test half-centuries. As a bowler, he took 619 test wickets and 337 ODI wickets. He got five wickets 35 times in test match and two times in the ODI match.
Kumble played the last one-day international match in 2007 at Port of Spain against Bermuda where he got 3 wickets giving 38 runs. He played the last test match against Australia in 2008 at Delhi in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy where he took 3 wickets giving 126 runs from both the innings.
