Gayle cracks triple ton to thrash Sri Lanka

Gayle showed the signs of aggression on the first day making his double ton and he just carried his innings from where he left today. He scored a massive triple hundred which was his second and he became just the forth batsmen to do that in international cricket just after Don Bradman, Brian Lara and Virender Sehwag. He along with Brendon Nash again broke the back of the Sri Lank an attack.

Brendon Nash played much of a supportive role along with the destructor Gayle. Nash completed his supportive half century and Gayle smashed another triple ton to put Sri Lanka in deeper trouble. Mendis and Randiv bowled well for Sri Lanka and Mendis in the end got rid of Gayle and Nash to get them some relief. Mendis took six wickets for his team and he bagged the last few wickets of West Indies in just no time, but it was too late for Mendis to come into action as they had already done the damage and West Indies were 580/9 in the end of the innings when they declared.

Sri Lanka came to bat with Dilshan opening with Paranavitana, West Indies seamer Russell struck Dilshan early and was gone for a duck while the day ended with no more damge for Sri Lanka when Sangakkara came on the crease and stayed till the end of the day. Sri Lanka has suffered a huge destruction from West Indies, they will have to give a good fight back to make a comeback in the game.
