Gayle Thrash Sri Lankan Bowlers

West Indies won the toss in the first test against Sri Lanka and they decided to bat first looking the flat Galle pitch in hope of scoring big and putting pressure on the opponents. Caribbean skipper’s decision was proved right by his senior pro Gayle as he devastated the Sri Lanka bowling to score a blistering double on the first day.

Sri Lankan bowlers were left restless as Gayle along with Adrian Bharath’s supportive knock of 58 also making his second half century. On the other hand Gayle was continuing his rampage even after Bharath’s dismissal. Darren Bravo, the debutant also played well to score a classy half century with Gayle encouraging the youngster on the other hand with his destructive innings to put the pressure on the Sri Lankan bowlers. Gayle remained unbeaten till the very end of the day and scored a outrageous double ton hitting 26 fours and 8 huge sixes, which is most by any Caribbean batsmen in a single innings.

Gayle exploited the conditions very well and the day ended on a high note for West Indies and they finished for 362/2. Sri Lanka on the other were left to think upon their mistakes and would have to comeback strongly if they have to be in the game.
