Biography -Shivnarine Chanderpaul


Shivnarin who is well known as 'Shiv' is a remarkable symbol of International cricket. He belongs to West Indian Cricket team. His full name is .Shivnarine Chanderpaul..Shivnarine Chanderpaul was born in "Unity Village,Demerara-Mahaica", Guyana on 16th August 1974.
He began his cricket career with West Indies cricket team and lucky to be the captain of the team .He is the only one West Indian cricketer of Indian Origin but he is also the first "Indo-Caribbean" in the West Indies team.Chanderpaul is one of the top ranked batsman in the world. He remained on the 1st rank in ICC Test rankings for a long period.
His ability of doggedness and ability to stick on the wicket for long time is well known and it makes the bowler to feel trouble.His unorthodox 'Front-on batting stance is also popular, although 'Shiv' shifts his body into a position of more conventional when he faces the ball. This has made him unique score taker on both left and right side of the wicket .He is renowned for getting his outside 'off-stump line' for 'left arm spin' bowlers by  hiding bat behind his pad.
Chanderpaul is lucky enough to be the last batting partner of 'Brian Lara' when Lara broke Gray Sobers' early record of 365 runs and remained not out in the 5th and last final Test against England Team in 1993-1994.
Chanderpaul began his Test debut on 1994 march 17th against England and ODI-One Day International debut on 1994 October 17 against India. His batting style is 'Left-handed' and his Bowling style is 'Right- arm leg break' but his main role in the team is as a Batsman .
Chanderpauls, face is very recognizable from other members of the Team particularly his native 'Guyana'. In cricket history Chanderpaul is responsible for remarkable records like one of only six players who is being in ground for 1000 minutes without conceding wicket and he is the only one batsman who faced 1000 regular balls without getting out in legendary of Cricket . He is also only one of four batsmen to have average of more than 100 runs in two different years. He is responsible for the 3rd fastest Teat hundred in the cricket history against Australia at "Georgetown, Guyana".
Chanderpaul is also second for only 'Brian Lara' in test runs by getting 8000 test runs being 2nd highest score for the "West Indies"
