Biography -Makhaya Ntini


Makhaya Ntini ,The ethnically black fast bowler played for South African cricket Team .
Ntini born in Mdingi,South Africa 6th July 1977 ,After discovering his talent he was
sent to Dale College in King william's Town to develop his talent in Cricket.His Action
was developed as a model of Malcolm Marshall -the great West Indies fast bowler.

Nitni made his Test debut in 19 March 1998 against Sri Lanka and ODI-ONE Day International
debut against New Zealand representing for the Nation team of South Africa.He make a
history on South African cricket as the first black South African Test cricketer.

After the Sharjah Tournament in 2000 Nitni was successful with a great control of bowling.
In 2003 he was able to become the first and ever South African bowler who take 10 wickets
at Lord's Cricket Ground,and It was reported as his best performance in his career.And
another brilliant performance is reported as 13 wickets for 132 runs against West Indies
at Port of Spain, and this was recorded as the most wickets taken by a South African
bowler in Test Match.His best bowling figure in ODI is considered as 6 for 22 runs against
Australia .Nitni become the The most popular figure in South African sport in a Rasearch
poll conducted by South African Press Association.With the current performance in his
career Nitni was able to establish himself as one of the leading fast bowler in the
world.In 2009 February he was ranked as the 5th in ICC Test rankings.But his ODI rank is
not so high, He was in 25th place at that time .With his poor performance in both DOI and
Test he was dropped from South African Team, But he play for Chennai Super Kings in IPL-
Indian Premium League.

Nitni retired from International career on 2 November 2010
